Eindhoven, Nederland TNO Voltijd

About this position

TNO at Holst Centre works with a range of thin-film technologies, originally developed for display and electronics applications, that have very interesting potential in the fast-growing domain of Energy Storage, either for electrical storage or for hydrogen as storage modality. Devices that are being developed at TNO at Holst Centre include next-generation batteries aimed at being intrinsically safe, higher capacity and faster charging with respect to state-of-the-art. For these developments, TNO at Holst Centre works closely with the, local and international, ecosystems of start-ups and scale-ups. The aim of the program is to accelerate the much-needed energy transition while concurrently increasing the earning power of (high-tech) companies active in this domain. TNO at Holst Centre employs thin/thick film process technologies to realize new battery concepts including metal sputtering, spatial atomic layer deposition (sALD), (PE)CVD, and nano- and micro-scale structuring of materials via e.g. photolithography and/or replication technology (moulding, nanoimprint). For the developing domain battery technology based on advanced process technologies we are looking for an experienced program manager who can further shape the next phase of the program and lead the activities to maximize the market potential of high-tech developments in this application domain.

You will support the technical program roadmap and projects by translating relevant state-of-the-art research topics into experimental plans and working closely with your team members to execute them. You will also write and execute funded projects in both national and European contexts.

Your expertise will play a key role in the generation and reporting of results that are patentable, publishable in internationally renowned journals/conferences, and/or marketable towards Holst Centre customers. You will work in a multidisciplinary, multi-company team, supervising and coaching team members and students to achieve their full potential.
