Eindhoven**| Your challenges?**:
- Participate in R&D activities focused on next-generation battery concepts to enhance safety, inter-component stability, and energy and power densities while reducing production costs at the battery cell level.
- Engage in hands-on laboratory work, including the synthesis, production of electrode and electrolyte layers, construction of coin and pouch cells, and conducting physico-chemical, morphological, and electrochemical measurements. Critically report findings.
- Develop and characterize new battery concepts using large-area integrated (thin film) process flows.
- Support the technical program roadmap and battery projects by managing projects, translating cutting-edge research into experimental plans, and executing these plans with team members. Additionally, write and execute funded projects at both national and European levels.
- File patents based on innovative ideas and results generated from research.
- Work within a multidisciplinary, multi-company team, providing supervision and coaching to team members and students.
**| What do we expect from you?**:
- PhD in (Electro)chemistry, Batteries, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in R&D settings in battery technology, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: materials synthesis, binder production and development, electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction, wet/dry electrode preparation, thin film technologies, battery preparation, and characterization methods such as XRD, Raman, SEM, impedance, galvanostatic cycling, and cyclic voltammetry.
- Pro-active and critical mindset with a clear goal orientation.
- Hands-on approach, taking responsibility and efficiently organizing practical work in a collaborative manner.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
