Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from € 4537,- to € 7056,- (scale 11 and scale 12) in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional researcher to lead our efforts in synthesizing high-quality 2D materials and integrating them into next-generation atomic-scale semiconductor devices. The successful candidate will have access to cutting-edge synthesis and metrology tools, and will collaborate across disciplines to shape the future of semiconductor devices.

This position offers a unique platform to develop your independent research program, secure external funding, and mentor a diverse group of students. You will also contribute to the department's teaching mission at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A PhD in (Applied) Physics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable domain.
  • Experience in the synthesis and characterization of 2D materials.
  • Ability to conduct high quality academic research, reflected in demonstratable outputs.
  • Affinity and willingness to teach and contribute to the Applied Physics bachelor and master curriculum and to further develop your teaching skills.
  • Strong cooperation skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring of students and staff, or leading a project.
