We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support the Financial Controller and CFO in managing the finance department. This role will focus on financial reporting, compliance, VAT, treasury with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency and financial controls. While reporting to the CFO, the Assistant Finance Manager will have the opportunity to grow within the company and potentially transition into the Finance Manager role.

This is a position to get involved with various accounting tasks and work closely with the entire department.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  •  Support day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, and payroll are recorded properly
  • Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations including proper revenue and expense recognition (e.g., fixed assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate
  • Monitoring cash and investment balances and performing cash flow forecasting including liaising with banks
  • Assisting the CFO and Financial controller in departmental projects.
  • Support fiscal year-end and month-end close activities and assist requirements of external auditors.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the accounting/finance operations.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the CFO.
  • Support an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements and performance reports.
  • Support compliance with international and local accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business strategies.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions as needed.
  • Liaise with outsourced accountancy firms in France, Germany, Poland, and the UK
  • Handle administrative duties assigned by the CFO and Financial controller

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or HBO+ preferred.
  • 7 + years of relevant, financial accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) with expertise in Excel required
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and TAX regulations such as CIT and VAT.
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience with financial management software (e.g., Microsoft Navision)
  • Experience in annual audits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Written and spoken English (business level) and Dutch (preferred)
  • Available for min. 32hours per week (32 - 40hrs) on 5 days
