The Value Engineer will be part of the Value Management team, focusing on projects and programs that require attention to cost due to impact or risk. Collaborating with product development teams, the Value Engineer identifies cost drivers and seeks enhancements to reduce costs towards set targets. Acting as a partner in Development teams (D&E) / Functional clusters, the Value Engineer promotes cost awareness, a sense of urgency, and facilitates cost reduction efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deep dives into technical topics to uncover cost-saving opportunities
  • Supporting D&E functional clusters in managing value/cost in their development roadmap
  • Assisting D&E, sourcing, and Business Lines in applying value and cost optimization methods throughout the product lifecycle
  • Leading Value Engineering activities for key projects until business case approval
  • Organizing Value Engineering workshops, identifying optimization opportunities, and fostering collaboration among project teams, experts, and suppliers
  • Building and maintaining a network with internal and external partners
  • Contributing to the product cost roadmap in coordination with the Cost Architect

Education and experience

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Product architecture, Product design, or industrialization
  • Proficiency in product design, cost structure analysis, cost optimization, and target costing
  • Familiarity with Value Engineering methods and techniques, or willingness to learn them
  • Affinity with costs is a plus
