We are looking for a toxicology scientist to join a multinational early life and medical nutrition organization in the Netherlands.

Are you a scientist who can detect and evaluate potential chemical and food safety hazards and contribute to implementing standards to ensure comprehensive chemical risk management for consumer safety

Do you have a Master's or PH.D in toxicology, food safety, biology, pharmacology, or nutritional science? Are you available for the next 12 months?

BeschrijvingResponsibilities : Freelance Toxicology Scientist

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conduct chemical risk assessments for ingredients and product formulation for the global products portfolio to support innovation and operations, based on scientific literature, toxicological data, human safety evidence, analytical data, and regulatory information;
  • As part of the Horizon Scanning activities, you will contribute to the screening of the scientific & regulatory environment for potential emerging scientific topics and identify potential new chemical risks relevant to the portfolio;
  • Act as subject matter expert on the safety of ingredients & product composition interacting with various functions across the organization;
  • Driving the establishment and maintenance of relevant and best-in-class chemical & food safety standards as part of the Quality and Food Safety Management System;
  • In building and animating internal food safety education and training modules related to ingredients/raw materials and product safety
    Interface when required with external scientific & trade organizations or experts in the field.
RequirementsRequirements : Freelance Toxicology Scientist
  • Master or PhD degree in toxicology, food safety, biology, pharmacology, or nutritional sciences, with 1-2 years of experience in nutritional and chemical risk assessment applied in an industrial context including knowledge of New Approach Methodologies (knowledge in regulatory toxicology is a plus);
  • Board certification in Toxicology or on track to get certified (i.e., ERT) is a plus;
  • Strong scientific writing skills, the ability to interpret the scientific data on safety into clear business recommendations and well-written scientific dossiers;
  • Fluent in English (oral and written);
  • Strong communication skills, open to communicating and building a network internally and externally.
SalarisThe Offer : Freelance Toxicology Scientist
  • This is a temporary role for approximately 12 months;
  • Hourly rate: €`90 - €95,- all in;
  • 40 hours per week.
