Description
Oversee the accounting department (7FTE), including creating an organizational structure that supports the department's goals and objectives
- Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial records, including the review of incurred costs, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other SOX-compliant activities
- Collaborate with operations to guarantee 100% compliance with revenue recognition for projects
- Ensure the implementation of adequate internal controls (including SOX controls) and maintain 100% compliance across the EMEA region
- Supervise the accounting departments of foreign affiliates
- Provide financial information to support the Operations team
- Maintain a robust system of accounting records
- Facilitate the timely provision of information to both internal and external auditors
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual financial report
- Handle payroll-related issues in collaboration with the HR department
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Oversee all financial department-related issues and activities
- Manage cash flow and overall risk
- Ensure a comprehensive set of controls is in place to mitigate risks
Profile
A degree in Accounting (HBO in the Netherlands) or a similar qualification
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive and relevant accounting experience within a multinational industrial manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to manage people and effectively lead a team spread across various locations
- Extensive experience with accounting for fixed fee and time and materials (T&M) projects
- Proficiency in MS Office and major ERP systems (such as SAP and Oracle), with a preference for Dynamics AX or D365
- Proven capability to drive change across various functions, both directly and indirectly
- Required experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly in due diligence and integration activities
