Job Summary
AECOM The Hague is currently looking for a Deputy Project Director to deliver commercial development projects and support with business development activities. Important aspects for the position embed project and business development elements as listed below.

The Deputy Project Director manages the project being the prime contact focus for the Client. The role will require strategic thinking and liaison with the Cost Management team and the wider AECOM. You will be considered as a key person within the Project Management business line and involved in AECOM Benelux and France initiative including mentoring, business development and recruitment activities.

Project
  • Manage and lead the project team and assure client’s brief is delivered with high quality standard.
  • Lead and focus of all engagement / communication, both written and verbal.
  • Support the management of contractual, commercial and legal aspects of the AECOM contract.
  • Oversee the project cost monitoring and control led by the Commercial Manager.
  • Review and assessment of project costs trends proposing corrective actions.
  • Propose Value engineering solutions.
  • Chair regular progress meetings.
  • Manage and produce Client Monthly Progress Report.
  • Support the Projects Director with the AECOM commercial update through AECOM's internal Project Management system portal.
  • Support the Projects Director with client interface and reporting.
  • Promote and drive the HSE culture amongst all staff, client, contractors and supply chain.
  • Attend regular safety meetings, ensure messages are conveyed to the operational staff, manage the safety messages into the projects and audit to give confidence that the safety is being implemented in accordance with client and AECOM HSE processes and procedures. Feedback safety learning’s into the Safety Manager to provide continuous learning for the whole team.
Business Development
  • Support with marketing initiatives and develop long-term business relationships.
  • Represent AECOM with potential clients, government agencies, potential and current partners and competitors.
  • Support other AECOM Business Lines in Benelux or outside Benelux as required.
  • Advise on any trends and developments in the construction market (Benelux area).
  • Experience in delivering Technical Due Diligence preferred.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Real Estate, Engineering or Architecture from a Dutch university.
  • Several years’ experience in a Project or Construction Management role with a project management consultancy or real estate developer.
  • Existing network with clients in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Experience in commercial projects.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RICS accreditation
