Context of the position

ASML’s Development & Engineering sector is responsible for the specification, design and realization of all products in the ASML portfolio. Within this sector, the source laser department drives for improvements in source laser performance, availability and cycle time, performance & equipment diagnostics, performance qualification, automation and sequence design.

Job Description

As an engineer in the Source Laser Diagnostics team, you will have a front-seat in building solutions that are used on a daily basis to make important business decisions as part of supplier and customer negotiations. D&E and CS colleagues will depend on your work to meet challenging customer reporting demands and support high profile escalations.

.

We are looking for an ambitious engineer who is not afraid to dig deep into the data and the physics of the source laser and translate this understanding into diagnostics solutions. You will collaborate with the team’s diagnostics architect and product owner to implement and develop part of the product roadmap and secure technical alignment with teams from other functions as well as suppliers.

.

As part of your work, you will also interact with end-users and see the results of your work in action.  

.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a complex technical design or have ownership of diagnostics solutions that require contribution from several engineers and suppliers. As well as to contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

    Detail out the design including its documentation.

  • Coordinate and participate in the development of metric algorithms that produce meaningful data, in collaboration with engineers of teams of adjacent /collaborating Functional Clusters, interfaces within team of a train or multiple products.

  • Functional qualification of code, identify and execute recommendations to improve code quality to ensure scalability.

  • Develop vision for diagnostics, including relational cascading of performance KPI's and automated service mix recommendations. devise new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Look at problems from multiple known angles and propose different ‘out of the box’ solutions to choose from, in an environment with technical uncertainty. Balances between quality and timely delivery.

  • Plan and coordinate the identification, elicitation of requirements, conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment, document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the project level.

  • Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.

  • Oversee the dependencies between project team tasks, assist Scrum Master and Product Owner in planning, proactively signal risk of not delivering on spec and in time, translate weekly deliverables in daily tasks and maintain daily task plan, deliver weekly deliverables. Provide effort estimates for own or similar tasks.

Education

Technical higher vocational Education or university, BSc or MSc

.

Experience

  • BSc or MSc, with 3+ years of industry experience and working in multidisciplinary teams

  • Evidence of ability to grasp and work with physical concepts OR knowledge of fundamental ASML technology, Source Laser is a plus

  • Solid background on data analysis and visualization, working knowledge of python coding

  • Experience with data infrastructure and engineering in Cloud environments are desired

  • Knowledge of common analysis and visualization tools (python, databricks, Grafana, PowerBI etc.)

  • Knows how Agile devops teams work
