Role and Responsibilities

In System Performance Overlay group we contribute to the development of ASML products by qualifying overlay during integration phase, developing new tests to verify performance under customer-relevant conditions, identifying and proposing during feasibility improvements within the restrictions imposed by system specifications, costs and planning considerations.

Our group is responsible for the development of DUV overlay competence (IC-04), identifying projects needed to enable the future of Overlay in the DUV portfolio, including methods and tools.

Main responsibilities

  • Specify, test, and analyze qualification tests and report on the results during product development
  • Invent and design new calibration and qualification methods to verify system performance.
  • Able to define analysis strategies based on business requirements. Able to define and execute complex analysis.
  • Verify system performance of design choices in scanner Hardware and Software and choices in the application.
  • Applying innovative data analytics methods
  • Use statistical methods to show improvements or issues.
  • Support the internal and external customers in solving overlay issues.
  • Contribute to ASML’s product performance roadmap and Overlay roadmap.
  • Able to define analysis strategies based on business requirements. Able to define and execute complex analysis.
  • Within Overlay group creating technical impact outside own project activity or team.

Education and experience

Technical University masters, preferably PhD, in physics or similar. Experience with experimental verification of theoretical models is a must.

  • 4-9 Years experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in lithography
  • Solid theoretical and/or experimental skills, supported by experience with mathematical modeling, statistics and model verification.
  • Strong skill in programming in Matlab.
  • Familiar with Overlay competence in lithography industry

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The department System Performance is responsible for timely and cost-effective qualification of overlay, focus, imaging and productivity  for functional modules, machines and customer applications. While you will be working in a multidisciplinary project team, in a dynamic and high-tech environment.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
