Our client is a dominant player in the workforce-technology sector in Europe.

With 500+ people, mainly working from their Netherlands based headquarters, they provide both services within HR/hiring and a technology platform to accommodate companies in the administrative and legislative tasks. The company has acquired several smaller companies in the last years, further cementing their dominant position in the market.

We are looking for a Senior information security office to join the company.

In this role you will have a broad scope, strongly focused on the internal organization, for both the product side and the internal workspace. You will be the only ISO in the company and will have to take a lot of ownership, contribute to both strategy, hands-on projects and day-to-day incidents/maintenance. All-round activities will be focused on: ISO27001(and other frameworks) maintenance and updates, manage audits, Internal security awareness campaigns, incident coordination, vendor-relation management, contributing to security strategy & roadmap.

With the current size and responsibilities there is no dedicated CISO role yet in the company, but there will be a growth path towards, as they are slowly getting to the tipping point in size that will lead them to the need of a CISO. Currently, there is some part-time interim assistance on board level, that you can tap into on strategy level. So as is, the role is 70% with a hands-on focus and 30% contributing to strategy – which is why it is positioned as a Senior ISO with growth towards CISO.

What are we looking for?

  • Seniority in the field. We don't pinpoint on years, but a rough estimate would be somewhere with at least 6-7 years in information security.
  • Strong experience implementing, updating, maintaining ISO27001.
  • Strong educational background or relevant industry certificates (CISSP, CISM, CISA).
  • Strong communication skills – preferably you have experience with board room communication, if not, strong potential to grasp this.
  • Experience within the IT sector or working with technology (product) teams.
  • Dutch is highly preferred, although we will consider exceptional candidates that are non-native.
