In het kort
Als Distribution Manager Parcels ben je verantwoordelijk voor de distributieactiviteiten op het depot in Amsterdam en medeverantwoordelijk voor de vestiging Utrecht. Met jouw helicopterview, veranderkracht en snelle manier van denken weet je, in samenwerking met verschillende disciplines, een succesvolle vertaalslag te maken van strategie en doelen naar de praktijk. Dagelijks zet jij je in om onze klanten te voorzien van een hoogwaardige pakketdienstverlening waarbij je blik op de horizon gericht blijft. Deze baan past perfect bij een flexibel persoon: de distributie gaat immers ook nagenoeg 24/7 door, waarin het in de ochtend het drukst is.
Als Distribution Manager ben je de sparringpartner van 20 tot 40 transportpartners (vervoerders) met 100 tot 150 Chauffeurs. Je geeft direct leiding aan 2-3 Teamleads Distribution en een pool van eigen Chauffeurs. Daarnaast ben je verantwoordelijk voor de juiste inzet van (direct en indirect) personeel. Je rapporteert aan de Depot Manager.
Wat ga je doen?
Je stuurt op het behalen van operationele, kwaliteit, financiële en personele doelstellingen met bijbehorende KPI’s;
De P van Partnership (onderdeel van onze kernwaarden: de 5 P’s) staat bij jou hoog in het vaandel. Jij gaat aan de slag met het verder uitbouwen van de relaties met onze transportpartners: je maakt afspraken met transportpartners en waarborgt de kwaliteit van de werkzaamheden. Hier valt o.a. te denken aan de communicatie omtrent de halfjaarlijkse tariefaanpassingen;
Je motiveert en inspireert je team: jij vindt het namelijk belangrijk om mensen te laten excelleren. Daarnaast ben je medeverantwoordelijk voor de realisatie van het depot- en districtsbudget en stuur je op het behalen van operationele en financiële doelstellingen. Met een sterke financiële en administratieve borging van alle transportactiviteiten is dat voor jou geen probleem;
Je bent continu bezig met het verbeteren en optimaliseren van de distributie processen. Denk hierbij o.a. aan de route indeling. Daar neem je de feedback die GLS krijgt op TrustPilot in mee;
Je coördineert en neemt deel aan diverse projecten, o.a. met betrekking tot nieuwe diensten/aflevermethoden;
Je zorgt voor een veilige werkomgeving voor onze medewerkers (in samenwerking met jouw Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment collega’s);
Je ziet toe op de naleving van wet- en regelgeving.
Wat breng jij mee?
Je beschikt over hbo werk- en denkniveau;
Je hebt bij voorkeur werkervaring binnen de transportbranche in een eindverantwoordelijke positie en bent bekend met het werken met vervoerders;
Je bent op de hoogte van de ontwikkelingen in de transportbranche;
Je denkt graag in mogelijkheden en gaat veranderingen niet uit de weg waarbij je oog hebt voor alle belangen binnen je werkveld;
Je hebt een klantgerichte instelling en beschikt over uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in het Nederlands en het Engels;
