An Asset Management company based in Amsterdam, is looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Finance to join their executive team.

Renowned for their innovative investment strategies and commitment to delivering superior returns for their clients, they manage a diverse portfolio of assets, including equities, pension, and alternative investments.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring the company's financial health and stability. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of asset management, financial markets, and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes..
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS/Dutch GAAP).
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to market volatility, credit exposure, and operational activities.
  • Oversee the company's insurance and risk management programs.
  • Provide financial analysis and due diligence for potential investments and acquisitions.
  • Lead, mentor and recruit for the finance team, developing a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote professional development and succession planning within the finance department.
  • Act as the primary liaison with auditors, regulators, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Present financial results and strategic plans to the Board of Directors and shareholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in a finance role, ideally in the asset management industry.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or similar degree in finance or business administration (CPA preferred)
  • Experience with financial modeling and financial/regulatory reporting processes.
  • Proficient
  • Meticulous with a high level of accuracy.
  • Passionate about finance, structure, and averse to clutter.
  • Proactive team member, interested in working in an international setting, and capable of navigating between different teams and cultures.
