Our exciting new client is a company in the high-end adventure travel sector. They have over 40 years’ experience of creating exceptional trips in more than 50 countries around the world.
They are opening a new business in the Netherlands (Utrecht) and will be transferring some of their key people there to get this new European office started. They have also created some key positions for the Dutch business, and this is one of the first.
The Payroll/HR Specialist will play a crucial role in processing multi-country payroll as well as dealing with various HR functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of HR practices in the Netherlands (and ideally, across Europe) and have experience in coordinating payroll processes with multiple vendors. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication and organizational skills. Additionally, we are looking for someone with a huge sense of service, a passion for working with numbers, a curious mindset, and proficiency in Excel.

Payroll Coordination:

· Collect variable elements and mutations.

· Review and understand the pay slips in each country

  • · Liaise with various payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

· Generate and check post-payroll statements.

· Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure consistency and accuracy

  • · Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies.

· Coordinate with external vendors for payroll, benefits, and other HR services.

HR Administration

· Ensure compliance with Dutch labor laws and regulations.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records on the HRIS software (Workday)

  • · Address employee queries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.

· Implement communication tools/actions on HR/payroll issues

  • · Help in setting up or using HR digitalization tools: safe, HCM software, etc.

· Participate actively in the company's social policy

  • We are looking for candidates fitting the following profile:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR roles, preferably with an international company in the Netherlands.
· Strong knowledge of Dutch labor laws and HR best practices as well as experience with other European countries from a HR and payroll perspective.
· Proficiency in HRIS applications required, Workday experience preferred.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

· Business fluent in the English language and ideally good knowledge of Dutch too

· A huge sense of service and a passion for helping others.
It is important to emphasize that this role is only open to candidates already living and working in the Netherlands and with full EU rights to work here. The role will be based from the office in Utrecht so it si important that you can travel there easily for 4 days a week with one day from home.
