Operations Director New Build (m/f)
The Operations Director New Build is overall responsible for the business unit New Build Cranes, with a focus on empowering teams as well as individuals, operational excellence and achieving customer satisfaction. The Operations Director New Build together with the Director Services report directly to the CEO.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Prioritize people-centric approach and maximize value creation through people-driven efforts
Engage people in crafting vision and strategy and translate into actionable plans
Identify & execute organizational improvement initiatives, streamline processes and optimize systems
Leadership : Provide connecting leadership by deploying Agile teams, enabling high performance and fostering positivity. Guide and support engineering, procurement, and project teams while identifying areas for improvement and empowering staff to enact change. Proactively address bottlenecks, conduct personal development chats, and anticipate succession plans to ensure high-performing project teams and maintain positive relations.
Project, Product, Resource & Risk Management : Manage end-to-end product and project processes from design to closeout, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Identify and mitigate various project risks to minimize negative impacts on operations, finances, and reputation. Oversee contracts, support issue resolution, and optimize resource allocation to maximize project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Promote self-learning culture, motivating colleagues to improve operational processes, enhance efficiencies, and foster personal development. Develop semi-standardized production, facilitate collaboration, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Monitor ERP systems, planning tools, and document management for optimal utilization.
External communication: Build and maintain strong ties with key clients and key external partners, address their needs and concerns while fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective communication.
Budget & Financial Management: Support and coaching project owners to monitor and steer their projects. Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize cost control and profitability. Analyze differences in planned versus actual budgets and schedules.
Senior Management team : Close collaboration with the CEO and Director Services in driving organizational development, fostering a vibrant culture, and supporting people. Provide regular updates on strategy implementation and proactively share insights on opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses.
Candidate Profile
Education
Masters Science education in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Knowledge & experience
Minimum of 6 years management experience (international experience preferential)
Leadership in cross cultural operational/project management environment
Production/engineering processes in offshore construction
Skills
