**FIXED-TERM, FULL-TIME JOB VACANCY**

The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking a full-time Associate in its Amsterdam office, which serves as an important base for HRW's development, fundraising, and outreach activities in The Netherlands. The Associate will provide administrative support to the Development and Outreach team in The Netherlands, collaborating on internal and external communications, administration, and event coordination. The Associate will be actively involved in team meetings and events related to human rights.

**Responsibilities**:
1.** **Support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of HRW activities and events in The Netherlands, including the annual Voices for Justice fundraising dinner;
2. Organize, communicate, and market outreach events such as film screenings, researcher briefings and expert-panels in The Netherlands to raise awareness and familiarity with HRW for a wider audience;
3. Assist in maintaining HRW's Salesforce donor database by updating records and information, generating financial reports, lists and queries, overseeing data entry for special events and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of the data;
4. Assist with gift processing, including acknowledgement and tax letters;
5. Coordinate visits of HRW researchers to The Netherlands, by coordinating logistics, drafting briefing documents, assisting in the preparations of presentations, and arranging meetings with ministries, donors, and partner organizations;
7. Maintain and help grow The Netherlands' HRW accounts on social media, primarily Facebook, and Instagram, as needed;
8. Provide development and fundraising support by performing prospect research, foundation research, translation tasks, and performing revenue reconciliation;
9. Support the cultivation of relations with donors, partner organizations and others, including tracking the developments in these relations;
10. Support the Run for Human Rights Watch foundation by arranging regular meetings, assisting in the coordination of events and briefings of HRW researchers and acting as point of contact for all HRW related inquiries;
11. Provide administrative support including scheduling, preparing for and taking minute at meetings, background research, and travel arrangements as appropriate;
12. Assist with the recruitment and coordination of interns based in the Amsterdam office, as needed; and

13. Carry out other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**: A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience is required.

**Related Skills and Knowledge**:
1. Prior office/administration experience and strong organizational skills is required.

2. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch is required.

3. Ability to work under deadlines while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously is required.

5. Experience in planning and executing virtual and/or hybrid events is desired.

6. Professional experience using Salesforce or similar database systems is desired.

7. Any of the following skills would be considered an asset, but are not required: fundraising experience, social media outreach, or grant writing.

8. Strong interest in international human rights, event management, and fundraising is desirable.

9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences is desirable.

10. Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize with mínimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team with staff in locations globally is desirable.
