**Traineeship Sustainable Covered Bonds: markets and pricing**:
**We are currently looking for a motivated graduation student to explore the sustainable covered bond market. You will be part of the Treasury & Rates team. This team consists of 4 specialists who are primarily responsible for managing the investments within the matching portfolio, the interest rate risk and liquidity risk of the fund. Our Credit Investment team and Sustainable Investments teams will also be involved in the assignment. Both teams consist of 4 specialists in the area of credit investments and sustainable investing. **AXP**

This assignment is part of the unique Academic Excellence Program (AXP). This program is a cooperation between PGB, MN and PGGM, three leading Dutch pension fund service providers. Students will get the opportunity to work alongside investment professionals, collaborate with other students and learn about institutional investing. On regular AXP-days all students in the program will come together in Amstelveen, The Hague, or Zeist to share ideas, learn from each other, attend presentations from investment teams and discuss job opportunities.

**What are your going to do?**

The global market for sustainable covered bonds has grown significantly over the last years with the green covered bonds making up the majority of the market. The EU-taxonomy regulation, and the related voluntary EU-green bond standard in particular, will form for investors like PGB a key reference point when assessing the contribution of green covered bonds towards their environmentally sustainable objectives. At the same time, the new pension contract forces investors of pension fund money to reconsider their portfolio construction. In this respect, products such like green covered bonds, need to be analyzed from a risk, return, cost and sustainability perspective to define whether it is an investable category. This research assignment focuses on collecting data to identify the sustainable covered bond market and to see whether green covered bonds could be an attractive investment category under the new pension reform and as part of the sustainable objectives of the pension fund.

Your tasks will be with:

- developing a method for collecting relevant sustainable covered bond data, evaluating current data provided by companies and data providers and its usability for investors. PGB will provide access to Bloomberg data;
- analysis of the Green Bond Framework for sustainable covered bonds and analyze whether the taxonomy complies with the internal framework. Identify which UN Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) will be in scope for sustainable covered bonds;
- prepare an analysis on sustainable covered bonds from a risk, return, cost and sustainability perspective to identify investment opportunities for positive impact. Prepare analysis on the Z-spread levels to provide insight in financial performance.

The specific focus of the assignment, and corresponding research questions, will be established in consultation with you.

Based on fulltime hours (38 hours) you will receive a traineeship benefit of 750 EURO per month.
