**The department**

The Risk Analysis Unit belongs to the Risk department (second line of defence) and is responsible for assessing credit and equity investment proposals incoming from our field offices globally following a triple bottom-line risk approach (financial, social and environmental performance). In addition, the unit is actively involved in improvement initiatives related to the credit approval process, policies & procedures, risk and rating tools, among several others.

**Job Purpose**

You will be mainly responsible for providing an independent opinion on credit investment proposals of financial intermediaries (mostly MFIs and SME financial providers) and/or agriculture SME companies. You will report to the RAU Manager and work closely with your RAU colleagues based in our head office in the Netherlands. You will regularly interact with our Investments colleagues based across Latin America, Africa, India and Southeast Asia. You will be able to conduct credit risk assessments across different regions and sharpen your knowledge of different sectors and markets. This is a 1 year
- full time role.

**Main responsibilities**
- Analysing new credit investment proposals as well as contract change requests related to outstanding exposures. As a Risk Analyst you will present your independent investment advice to the Credit Committee and, if relevant, propose specific recommendations and/or conditions to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective risk management throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Based on your experience and capabilities, you might have either Financial Intermediaries or Agriculture financing as your specialization or focus area(s).
- Participate and/or contribute to initiatives developed within the Unit to improve processes & risk tools.
- Other functions as per requirements of the Unit and duly coordinated with RAU manager.

**Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in the field of finance, economics, business administration or similar. International finance certifications are a plus.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in banking or impact investment institutions structuring deals and/or analysing credit risk and/or assessing financial intermediaries and/or corporates/SMEs.
- Emerging markets experience is an asset.
- Good knowledge and expertise in agriculture financing/trade finance is desirable.
- Good stakeholder management skills is an asset.
- Fluency and full working proficiency in English is a must. Good command of Spanish or French is an asset.
- Excellent command of MS Office.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
