Trinseo Netherlands B.V. is looking for a

**Research Scientist and Lab Manager Compounding and Blending R&D**

The **Research Scientist and Lab Manager Compounding and Blending R&D** shoulders numerous responsibilities, including scientific oversight, compounding process expertise, team management, training, quality assurance, research and development, equipment maintenance, safety enforcement, collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Occasional travel is required for the position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Scientific Oversight and Research Direction: Leading R&D initiatives by providing scientific oversight and direction for compounds and blends. This involves designing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results to drive innovation in plastics compounding.
- Expertise in compounding Processes: Serving as the resident expert (or demonstrate a strong willingness to acquire expertise) on compounding processes.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols and compliance with relevant regulations and standards to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or environmental hazards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process optimizations, efficiency improvements, or cost savings within the laboratory operations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive overall performance and competitiveness.

Qualifications:

- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
- Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, advancements in polymer science, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
- Creativity and innovation to develop novel approaches to research challenges.
- Strong organizational skills to manage projects, timelines, and resources efficiently.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in experimental work and documentation.
- Excellent communication in both written and spoken English is a must; Dutch and other European languages are a plus.
- Proficient in working with Windows based office systems, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
