**Job description**:
**Data and AI cluster (DAI)**

You will join the team of the Data and Artificial Intelligence cluster. At DAI we study foundations of AI for the present and the future. We design new AI methods, develop AI algorithms and tools with a view at expanding the reach of AI and its generalization abilities. In particular, we study foundational issues of robustness, safety, fairness, trust, reliability, tractability, scalability, interpretability and explain ability of AI.

**Job requirements**:

- Motivated researcher with a PhD in machine learning, data mining, or other relevant field.
- Ability to conduct high-quality academic research reflected in demonstratable outputs.
- Motivated to teach, contribute to teaching processes, and to develop excellent teaching skills.
- Strong cooperation skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring of students and staff, leading a project or chairing a group.
- Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English.

- An 18-month contract as Assistant Professor which can become permanent after 12 months on the same employment level upon successful evaluation.
