**Your challenge**:
Advantech is committed to maintaining the highest standards of security and data protection. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Intern to join our Information Security team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working alongside experienced professionals.

**Your responsibility**:
In this role, you will support key areas of information security, including monitoring, incident response, and compliance to strengthen our organization’s security posture. You will be assisting in:

- **Security Alerts and Incident Response**: Monitor and analyze security alerts, assist with incident response, and document findings to maintain a complete log for future analysis.
- **Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management**: Research emerging threats, support vulnerability assessments, and help update threat intelligence and vulnerability databases.
- **Security Awareness and Training**: Contribute to security awareness materials and training, including simulated phishing exercises to educate employees on identifying phishing attempts.
- **Policy and Compliance Support**: Support policy reviews and updates, assist with compliance to standards, and participate in audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- **ISO27001**: Collaborate with the ISMS team on ISO27001 certification by creating and reviewing policies as needed.
- **General Support**: Provide support across security projects, help manage security documentation, and actively participate in team discussions on security improvements.

**Who are you?**:
We are seeking a Cyber Security student with excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for tackling new security challenges. Next to that:

- You are pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, ideally in 3rd or 4th year HBO program with a basic understanding of security principles.
- You have strong skills in analyzing and addressing security issues with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- You possess exceptional spoken and written English, able to communicate complex information clearly to various audiences.
- You are capable of working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- You are available from January/February 2025 for at least 5 months.
