About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Customs and Excise Specialist to join our Tax Team at VARO Energy in Rotterdam. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs and excise regulations, managing inventory administration, and applying relevant legislation at the operational level.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard our Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date master data files
- Compile and submit customs and excise duty returns and declarations in a timely manner
- Track customs and excise stock records
- Draft and submit CBS declarations
- Draft and submit monthly statements regarding excise duties
- Clear inbound eADs and check the timely clearance of outbound eADs
Supporting Activities
- Provide support for customs and excise licenses or guarantees
- Submit customs and excise returns or declarations in a timely manner
- Perform checks included in the internal control program
- Assist with customs audits
- Perform administrative duties related to customs and excise
Requirements
- Strong administrative skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to take decisions and communicate them effectively
- Financial analytical focus
- Solid command of Dutch, both written and verbally
- Graduated MBO or HBO studies in Administration, combined with relevant experience in Customs and Excise
- Preferably obtained a(n) (Assistant) Customs Declarant certification
- Affinity for or demonstrated interest in Customs and Excise
- Full-time availability and willingness to work a duty rota shift
