About the Role

Solidaridad is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Continental Supervisory Board as a Board Member. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the organization's strategy and direction, ensuring that its mission and values are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the organization's management and development.
  • Conduct an annual appraisal of the Managing Director and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Approve the Annual Work Plan, Budget, and Annual Report and Accounts of the Foundation.
  • Ensure that the organization's policies and procedures are aligned with its mission and values.
  • Represent the organization in various forums and meetings, promoting its interests and values.
Requirements
  • Strong academic background and professional experience in science or research.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Proven track record of leadership and governance experience, with a strong understanding of board roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a global context.
