POSITION OVERVIEW

The Individual Donor Relations Officer plays a crucial role in fostering and nurturing connections with both potential and current individual benefactors through personalized engagement.

This position is tasked with overseeing, enhancing, and expanding revenue from the current roster of individual supporters, including those with legacy commitments, as well as identifying new prospects. The primary objective is to broaden the individual donor base, elevate the value of contributions, and achieve the annual financial goals set by the organization. This role necessitates regular presence in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship Management

  • Cultivates and sustains connections with both potential and existing individual benefactors;
  • Oversees, enhances, and increases revenue from the current portfolio of donors and prospects;
  • Manages and develops the pipeline of legacy contributors;
  • Formulates strategies for individual donor engagement to secure, renew, and elevate contributions;
  • Utilizes a moves management system to monitor each phase of the donor journey, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition;
  • Contributes to the strategic annual objectives of the Individual Donor Relations team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Strong alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and values, including a commitment to social and environmental justice and the rights of marginalized communities.
  • University-level education or equivalent experience in fundraising or relationship management/customer service.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising or relationship management, with a proven track record of increasing and securing revenue from individual donors and managing a donor portfolio;
  • Personal experience with social justice issues and various forms of systemic oppression.
  • Understanding of human rights, social justice, environmental advocacy, international development, and/or feminist movements.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Raiser's Edge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations and supporter communication preferences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in verbal and written English, and desirable proficiency in Dutch.
  • Ability to work with key performance indicators and meet fundraising objectives.
  • Capacity to collaborate across different organizational units.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities; capable of representing the organization effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular presence in the office.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

We offer a full-time position in a dynamic and professional environment within an international foundation dedicated to diversity, solidarity, peace, and justice. The monthly salary for this role is based on experience and follows the CAO Welzijn scale 9, with a minimum of € 3.015 and a maximum of € 4.445, plus 8% vacation pay, a 13th-month salary, and a pension plan. This position is based in our centrally located office.
