Nippon Express Europe GmbH offers an exciting opportunity for a Procurement and Pricing Specialist to join our team in Antwerp, Belgium.

This permanent position involves stimulating tasks within a diverse and international environment, allowing you to grow your career and develop new skills.

Job Description

The main purpose of this role is to support the regional Tender Management team as a bid manager. You will assist with workload balancing, create competitive proposals, and translate corporate directions into local actions.

  • You will prepare high-quality proposals in response to forwarding RFQs received from global/regional and country priority accounts, closely cooperating with other Tender Management Teams, Bid Owner, Product, and other support functions.
  • Maintaining team reporting, business administration, and database management are also key responsibilities.

Key tasks include:

  • Supporting the entire tender process, including analysing and validating information from internal stakeholders, developing response formats and pricing matrices, responding to queries, and submitting RFQs to customers or bid owners.
  • Providing quality proposals to bid owners and Tender Management Teams for validation and submission to customers.
  • Analysing tenders and recommending optimum business solutions.
  • Supporting and maintaining pricing databases for transportation rates and logistics/distribution rates.
  • Maintaining tender data profiling and records, including monthly bid logs and completed tenders.
  • Supporting the procurement team in gathering market intelligence on competitors' pricing, capabilities, facilities, client base, products, and services.
  • Ensuring post-bid analysis is performed for all bids, successful or unsuccessful, and shared with stakeholders for bid tracking.
  • Following up and closing all opportunities, providing accurate estimations of win/retained/lost bids, volumes, and trade lane information.
  • Maintaining reporting databases and generating ad-hoc reports as required, adhering to good business practices.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have general knowledge of ocean forwarding business (customers, competitors, suppliers, and overall environment) and a minimum of 2 years of work experience in freight forwarding (Air/Ocean Cargo).

  • A strong passion for accuracy and detail-orientation is essential.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
  • Strong organisational skills, including prioritising, planning, assigning, and controlling.
  • A Business Administration/Commercial background is necessary.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; other languages are advantageous.
  • IT experience regarding ocean freight operations is desirable.
  • Expertise in MS Office, specifically Excel, is required. Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as CargoWise or SAP is a plus.
Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience, taking into account the location in Antwerp, Belgium.
