We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled electromagnetism engineer to join our team at TNO. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that involves designing high-gain antennas for small cubesats.

Project Overview

High-gain antennas are crucial for various space applications, including Earth observation and satellite communication. However, designing such antennas for small cubesats poses significant challenges due to their limited size and weight constraints. Reflectarrays offer a promising solution by mimicking curved reflectors with flat panels, allowing for high-gain antenna systems that can be folded and integrated into small cubesats.

Your Role

As an electromagnetism engineer intern, you will be responsible for studying and developing a foldable reflectarray solution to minimize losses and maximize gain. You will work closely with our team of experts in radar technology, who are passionate about developing innovative, high-performance MMICs, miniaturized and integrated RF subsystems, antennas, and front-ends.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, with a focus on applied electromagnetism and antennas. You should also have experience with programming languages such as Matlab or Python, and be proficient in communication skills and a results-driven attitude.
