About the Role
We are seeking a talented and ambitious student intern to join our translational data science team at Genmab's Utrecht office. The selected candidate will support the transition of a new drug from discovery to clinical trials through various data science analyses.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate preliminary findings with additional ccRCC dataset(s) and conduct statistical and bioinformatics analyses.
- Correlate glycosylation profiles to additional clinically relevant parameters to further explore the impact of glycosylation in cancer progression.
- Perform functional enrichment analysis on genes associated with prognostically favorable glycosylation profiles.
- Evaluate glycosylation bioinformatics tools for application in this project.
- Incorporate other types of omics data to explore the relationship between glycosylation patterns and other cellular processes.
- Present findings in team meetings.
About the Project
The internship project 'Exploring cancer's sugary secrets: a deep dive into glycosylation modulation gene expression profiles' aims to investigate the variability and potential universality of glycosylation regulation signatures across various cancer types. The selected candidate will work with RNA sequencing data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project to analyze glycosylation patterns and their impact on cancer progression.
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in bioinformatics, data science, or a related field.
- Technical skills: Experience with programming in R and/or Python for bioinformatics analysis, familiarity with bioinformatics databases and tools, and basic understanding of machine learning techniques.
- Soft skills: Creative, pro-active, organized, and enjoy solving puzzles.
