The Opportunity

Our translational data science team in Utrecht is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a research analyst. You'll be responsible for analyzing RNA sequencing data from The Cancer Genome Atlas project to identify distinct glycosylation regulation profiles across various cancer types.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate preliminary findings with additional ccRCC dataset(s).
  • Conduct statistical and bioinformatics analyses, including PCA, clustering, and survival analysis.
  • Correlate glycosylation profiles to additional clinically relevant parameters to explore the impact of glycosylation in cancer progression.
  • Perform functional enrichment analysis on genes associated with prognostically favorable glycosylation profiles.
  • Evaluate glycosylation bioinformatics tools for application in this project.
  • Integrate other types of omics data to explore the relationship between glycosylation patterns and other cellular processes.
  • Present findings in team meetings.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in bioinformatics, data science, or a related field.
  • Technical skills: Experience with R and/or Python programming for bioinformatics analysis, familiarity with bioinformatics databases and tools, and basic understanding of machine learning techniques.
  • Soft skills: Creative, proactive, organized, and problem-solving abilities.
