Postdoctoral Researcher in Evolutionary Health Psychology

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the social psychology section of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology. The successful candidate will be part of the ERC Consolidator Grant NONPHARM: "The Psychological Underpinnings of Nonpharmaceutical Interventions".
Research ProjectInfectious diseases have a significant impact on well-being, economies, and global health. Nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) can reduce the spread of pathogens, but their effectiveness depends on various factors. Our research aims to increase knowledge of how and why people engage in NPIs, such as handwashing, social isolation, and creating barriers to respiratory droplets and aerosols.
Responsibilities- Conduct literature reviews and analyze data
- Design and execute studies with the PI
- Coordinate with collaborators and communicate with research agencies
- Manage and analyze data, and assist in manuscript preparation
- PhD in social, cultural, or evolutionary psychology (or related field)
- Excellent data-analytic skills and scientific writing abilities
- Demonstrated ability to think and work outside-the-box and engage in effective scientific writing
- Excellent command of English and a background in evolutionary social sciences
