Privacy Compliance Manager

Position Overview
As the Privacy Compliance Manager, you will lead key operational projects, focusing on risk evaluations, incident management, documentation, and employee training to foster a culture of privacy awareness. We are looking for a motivated and proactive privacy expert with a solid grasp of GDPR and a proven track record in applying privacy standards to help build a strong privacy framework.
Reporting directly to the Group Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will work collaboratively to synchronize all data protection efforts across various company sectors, ensuring a holistic approach to privacy management.
Based in one of our offices, you will engage with cross-functional teams in our diverse operations, playing a crucial role in developing a cohesive privacy strategy that is vital for upholding the organization's integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Evaluations: Perform risk evaluations, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs), to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training sessions for staff on data protection policies and best practices to cultivate a privacy-aware environment.
- Management of Data Subject Rights: Address requests related to data subject rights, ensuring prompt and compliant responses. Oversee the DPO mailbox for incoming inquiries.
- Incident Management: Collaborate with relevant teams to investigate data breaches or privacy incidents and implement effective response strategies.
- Vendor Compliance Assessment: Evaluate the data protection practices of vendors and third parties to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and manage Data Processing Agreements effectively.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keep and regularly audit records of processing activities (RoPA) to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Implementation Assistance: Support the Group DPO in executing data privacy strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Data Inventory Oversight: Maintain an inventory of personal data processed, ensuring precise data mapping within the organization.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice and recommendations on various data protection issues to both the business and clients.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay informed about changes in privacy laws and regulations that impact the organization across Europe.
Impact and Contributions
- You will lead operational initiatives, including risk evaluations, incident management, documentation, and training to enhance privacy awareness.
Desired Experience and Attributes
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in data protection or privacy-related roles, preferably within a multi-jurisdictional organization.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices.
- Competent in utilizing technology effectively.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with DPIAs, RoPAs, Data Processing Agreements, and data breach response.
- Certification in data protection, such as CIPP/E.
- Familiarity with data privacy software like OneTrust.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations in jurisdictions such as Germany, the UK, Spain, or France.
