Privacy Compliance Manager

Position Overview
As the Privacy Compliance Manager, you will lead critical operational efforts including risk evaluations, management of data incidents, and meticulous record maintenance. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive privacy expert with a solid grasp of GDPR and a track record in applying privacy standards to help build a strong privacy framework. Reporting directly to the Group Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will work collaboratively to synchronize all data protection initiatives across various company sectors, ensuring a holistic approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Evaluations: Perform comprehensive risk evaluations, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) to pinpoint and mitigate privacy risks.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on data protection policies and best practices to foster a culture of privacy awareness.
- Management of Data Subject Rights: Address requests related to data subject rights, ensuring prompt and compliant responses while monitoring the DPO mailbox for incoming inquiries.
- Incident Management: Work with relevant teams to investigate data breaches or privacy incidents and execute response strategies.
- Vendor Assessment: Evaluate the data protection practices of vendors and third parties to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage Data Processing Agreements effectively.
- Record Maintenance: Keep and regularly audit records of processing activities (RoPA's) to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Implementation Assistance: Support the Group DPO in the execution of data privacy strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws.
- Data Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of personal data processed, ensuring precise data mapping within the organization.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice and recommendations on various data protection matters to both the business and clients.
- Legal Monitoring: Stay informed about changes in privacy laws and regulations that may impact the company across Europe.
Impact and Contributions
Your role will be pivotal in leading operational initiatives, such as risk evaluations, incident management, and record maintenance, while also enhancing awareness through training.
Desired Experience and Attributes
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in data protection or privacy-related roles, preferably within a multi-jurisdictional organization.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and best practices in data protection.
- Competent in utilizing technology effectively.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with DPIAs, ROPAs, Data Processing Agreements, and data breach response.
- Certification in data protection, such as CIPP/E.
- Familiarity with data privacy software like OneTrust.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations in jurisdictions such as Germany, the UK, Spain, or France.
