Project Manager Naval Training Facility

The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the execution of a medium-sized project for the development of new land-based Navy training facilities in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the project planning, resource allocation, and people management. They will also be responsible for liaising with external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements, and representing the company to customers and professional associations.
Key Accountabilities- Execute the project within agreed schedules, quality standards, and cost constraints.
- Manage project planning, including resource planning.
- Responsible for project people management.
- Develop and execute a project plan, monitoring progress against set targets.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including customer representatives, co-makers, and suppliers.
- Responsible for trials, testing, and commissioning of naval training facilities.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
- Responsible for proper follow-up on warranty claims during the warranty period.
- Represent the company to customers and related professional associations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Extensive project management experience in complex international projects with multi-site manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of and experience with management principles and techniques.
- Experience in building coalitions, internally and with other (inter)national Damen entities and/or external suppliers.
- Good command of English (written and verbal) and preferably German language, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to frequently travel and work in the North of Germany and Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
- Competences: customer orientation, teamwork, results orientation, coaching, planning, and organizing, behavioural flexibility, quality orientation, leadership, adaptability, and stress tolerance.
- Excellent references and antecedents, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
