Job Description

The Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics is seeking a highly motivated MSc student to join our team as a research intern in the population genetics of human communication group. The successful candidate will work with our team to develop the Genomic-Relationship-Matrix Structural Equation Modelling (GRM-SEM) framework further, allowing for the joint modelling of multiple groups within a study sample and optimising current genomic and residual modelling strategies using simulations and benchmark tests.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the GRM-SEM framework to model genomic and residual covariance structures
  • Conduct simulations and benchmark tests to optimise current genomic and residual modelling strategies
  • Collaborate with the research team to integrate the developed framework into existing research projects
Requirements
  • MSc student enrolled on a master's programme in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Statistics, Genetic Epidemiology or similar
  • Solid background in undergraduate statistics
  • Good programming expertise in R and bash or another programming language
  • Good knowledge of English
