Job Title: Director of Procurement Strategy

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Procurement Strategy to lead the global NPR procurement team and contribute to the overall success of Marel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global NPR procurement strategy aligned with Marel's overall business objectives.
  • Identify and assess procurement opportunities to drive value, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
  • Challenge the status quo and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Act as a business partner connecting to business stakeholders and ensure internal customer satisfaction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute category strategies for NPR spend categories, including but not limited to IT, HR, marketing, MRO/Capex, facility management, travel, and professional services.

Supplier Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes for Marel.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
  • Drive Marel's sustainability agenda with suppliers.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously challenge, evaluate, and improve NPR procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop a digital roadmap for NPR in collaboration with relevant functions.
  • Implement best practices in procurement, including strategic sourcing, e-procurement tools, and supplier relationship management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and procedures.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the procurement function.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful procurement strategies, engaging teams, and stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build own network and work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Cultural awareness and change management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry and a multinational company is a plus.
