Kraton, a leading provider of specialized polymers and chemicals, is seeking a skilled Technician to join our European Polymer R&D team at our Amsterdam Research Center.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide analytical, technical service, and manufacturing support to scientists, contributing to the maintenance and growth of the business in various market segments. As a Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory activities following well-defined safety and environmental standards, carrying out experimental programs in compounding, paving, and related testing, executing experimental set-ups, and obtaining and organizing experimental data according to defined methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory activities safely and efficiently
  • Carry out experimental programs in compounding, paving, and related testing
  • Execute experimental set-ups, including smaller production size units
  • Obtain and organize experimental data according to defined methods
  • Communicate experiment results to scientists or project leaders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MLO/MBO Vocational Background up to 2 years relevant experience)
  • High sense of safety awareness and responsibility for own working environment
  • Basic awareness of experimental techniques
  • Understanding of equipment procedures required to execute experiments
  • Ability to translate procedures into detailed working methods
  • Problem-solving skills, a curious spirit, and knowledge of equipment mechanics
  • Demonstrated ability to execute experiments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Passion for hands-on work (testing, handling tools, and working with mechanical equipment)
  • Team player with ability to communicate openly with team on experiment and procedure walk-throughs
  • Professional level of English language knowledge, Dutch preferred
