Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Oceanwide. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our towage vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engine room personnel and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
- Monitor and maintain the condition of machinery and systems, with a focus on towage-specific requirements.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair work to ensure the reliability of key systems during towing operations.
- Ensure compliance with international and local maritime legislation, including towage-specific regulations.
- Coordinate logistics for fuel, oil, lubricants, and other essential supplies.
- Act as a liaison between the Master and engine room personnel to ensure clear communication and coordination during towing missions.
Requirements
- Mandatory certifications, including STCW and a valid competency as Chief Engineer.
- At least 2 years of experience as Chief Engineer, preferably in towage.
- Extensive knowledge of machinery and systems related to towage.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
- Excellent command of the English language, verbal and written.
- Proven leadership qualities and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work under high pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
