Job Title: Chief Officer Towage

Job Summary:

Oceanwide is seeking an experienced Chief Officer to join our team of maritime professionals. As a key member of our tugboat operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of our vessels.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate navigation and maneuvering operations, focusing on safety and efficiency.
  • Lead the crew, including managing towing lines, securing cargo, and performing maintenance tasks if needed.
  • Maintain high standards of maritime skills and safety among the deck crew.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime laws and regulations.
  • Actively contribute to voyage planning and monitor weather conditions.
  • Serve as a crucial link between the Master and crew for smooth communication and operation.

Requirements:

  • Possession of required STCW certificates, including a valid COC Chief Officer.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a maritime leadership role at sea, preferably in tugboat operations.
  • Exceptional navigation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of maritime legislation, with a special focus on tugboat operations.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proactive and efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
