Maritime Officer for Towing Vessels

At Oceanwide, we are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Officer to join our team of professionals in the towage industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Master in all aspects of towage and navigation, ensuring safe and efficient operations on board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in navigation and execution of towing maneuvers under the direction of the Master.
  • Coordinate and supervise all deck operations.
  • Monitor and train the deck crew to maintain high standards of safety and technical skills.
  • Implement and maintain safety procedures.
  • Actively contribute to the planning of towing operations and respond to changing weather conditions.
  • Ensure communication between the Master, crew, and other involved parties.

Requirements:

  • Possession of the required STCW certificates for towage, including a valid maritime officer's competency certificate.
  • At least 2 years of experience on towage vessels.
  • In-depth knowledge of navigation, towage techniques, and crisis management.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in leading a team.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Able to perform under high pressure.
