Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Team Leader to join our team at W Amsterdam. As a key member of our Bar and Food team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of our W Lounge and bar, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service and an unforgettable experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the W Lounge and bar, In Room Dining, and Banqueting to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and lead a high-performing team to deliver outstanding service, quality, and consistency.
  • Service Standards: Ensure that all team members adhere to our service standards and operating procedures, from the initial guest interaction to the final farewell.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all aspects of the bar operation meet our high standards, including production stock, methods, and brand standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, including par stock, to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Bartender to create and update menus, including developing new cocktails and optimizing the menu to meet guest preferences.
  • Training and Development: Create and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of bartenders, ensuring they are equipped to deliver exceptional service and quality.
  • Closing and Reporting: Conduct thorough closing procedures, including financial and closing reports, to ensure accurate records and seamless transitions.
  • Guest Experience: Foster a culture of exceptional guest service, ensuring that every interaction is personalized, memorable, and exceeds guest expectations.
  • Team Engagement: Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging team members to share ideas, feedback, and suggestions to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a nightlife venue or luxury hotel setting.
  • Fluency in English, with Dutch and other languages an asset.
  • Proven track record of leadership, team management, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under pressure, and with loud music.
  • Work Permit for The Netherlands required.
