Hotel Okura Amsterdam is a five-star hotel that embodies a unique blend of Japanese and Dutch culture. As a Serre Kitchen Apprentice, you will be part of a team that strives to provide exceptional service and create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Our restaurant, Serre, has been recognized with a Bib Gourmand award for its excellent balance of price and quality.

As an apprentice, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes to the highest standards, contributing to the development of new menu items, and ensuring the quality of ingredients and end products. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing dishes according to standards, recipes, and planning
  • Contributing to the development of new products and menu items
  • Ensuring the quality of the end product
  • Ensuring the quality and freshness of ingredients
  • Ensuring the quality, taste, texture, and color of food items and making adjustments as needed
  • Following hygiene instructions

You will work closely with all departments in the hotel and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The apprenticeship shifts will vary throughout the week, with shifts rotating between 12:00 and 22:00. You will work 4 days a week, 8 hours a day, and will be available to work on public holidays.

We offer a range of benefits, including:

  • Apprentice contract, 12 months

  • Bonus: 1 week additional salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit)

We are looking for an enrolled ROC student in the Netherlands who is eager to learn, open to receiving feedback, and able to express themselves in English (written and orally). You should be able to work in a precise, organized, and independent way.
