Hotel Okura Amsterdam is seeking a talented and motivated Serre Kitchen Apprentice to join our team. As a Serre Kitchen Apprentice, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes of the highest level, carrying out mise and place activities, keeping the kitchen clean, and fully carrying out the tasks of the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of dishes according to standards, recipe, and planning;
- Contribute to the development of products and items for the menu;
- Ensuring and guarding the quality of the end product;
- Ensuring good quality and freshness of ingredients;
- Ensuring good quality, taste, texture, and color of food items and making adjustments when necessary;
- Following hygiene instructions.
- Contract: Apprentice contract, 12 months;
- Salary: Apprentice salary, click for the salary overview;
- Bonus: 1 Week additional salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit);
- Holidays: 21 days for a 0.8 FTE;
- 8% holiday pay (pro rata);
- Compensation for National Holidays;
- Horeca CAO applies;
- General Pension Scheme of Catering and Catering;
- Attractive family and friends rates on overnight stays at Hotel Okura Amsterdam;
- Once a year staff discount in one of the restaurants (50%);
- Staff discount in our restaurants (20%);
- Contribution to travel expenses from 10 km (one way);
- After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest
- You are an enrolled ROC student in the Netherlands;
- You are eager to learn and open to receiving feedback;
- You have good communication skills;
- You are able to express yourself in English (written and orally);
- You are prepared to work in a precise, organised, and independent way.
