Doctoral Researcher in Social and Cultural Psychology: A Study on Emotion Expression

The Universiteit van Amsterdam is seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team as a PhD candidate in Social and Cultural Psychology. The successful candidate will be part of a prestigious research project focused on exploring emotion expression across cultures, with a specific emphasis on gendered emotions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research and complete a PhD thesis within the project's timeframe.
- Conceptualize and plan empirical studies on the project topic, including designing and executing innovative quantitative techniques.
- Present research results at national and international workshops and conferences.
- Draft articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Actively participate in the Social Psychology Programme Group and the wider scientific community through collaborations, workshops, and presentations.
- Teach and/or supervise Bachelor and Master theses (5% of the time).
- Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
- Strong background in social and/or cultural psychology.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Highly motivated to research gender, culture, and emotions.
- A temporary full-time position of 38 hours a week for a term of 4 years.
