Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive research and engagement strategy that aligns with the university's mission and goals.
- Lead a team of professionals in providing high-quality research support services, including grant writing, research intelligence, and open science initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty members, researchers, and external partners to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Collaborate with other departments and services to develop policies and support services that enhance research and engagement activities.
- Position the university as a leader in research and engagement through strategic partnerships, alliances, and networks.
- Act as a sparring partner for the Executive Board, deans, and directors to provide strategic advice and support.
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a complex, knowledge-intensive organization.
- Strong connecting leadership qualities, with the ability to build bridges and connect people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and persuade.
- Broad national and international network of external partners and research funders.
- Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both in speaking and in writing (CEFR level C1).
