We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect to lead the Positioning Software Department at Philips Healthcare. This role involves the strategic development of modular software architecture, guiding conceptual studies, and shaping the advancement of innovative technologies for robotic subsystems utilized in interventional X-ray systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute significantly to the innovation of clinical products by supporting the development of new clinical solutions and platforms, leveraging the latest software technologies and resources. Demonstrate a proactive approach, focus on quality, and a results-oriented mindset while working accurately and collaboratively to enhance processes and tools. Define and guide the software technical roadmap in alignment with overarching technology strategies (e.g., model-driven development, operating systems, EtherCAT, etc.) and application trends. Ensure consistency in design decisions, manage the allocation of shared resources, oversee software interfaces across projects, and take responsibility for implementing architecture in modular, maintainable, and extensible components. Become an integral part of a highly motivated international cross-functional R&D team. Collaborate with software teams globally, making this a multidisciplinary international initiative where adaptability is essential. The Positioning Software Department comprises a team of 35-40 highly qualified software engineers dedicated to developing robotic subsystems for interventional X-ray systems.Ideal Candidate Profile:
A master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field. Over 10 years of experience in real-time embedded software development, with a minimum of 3 years in a Software Architect role leading multiple software teams. Strong abstraction skills with the ability to maintain a high-level overview while being capable of delving into details to analyze and resolve issues as necessary. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create clear architectural overviews and roadmaps. Capable of conveying ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Recognized for being hands-on and well-versed in modern software technologies (e.g., latest C++ versions, DSL, Coco, Linux). Additional qualifications that are advantageous include experience in a mechatronics environment and familiarity with regulated settings. About Philips
