About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biochemical Process Design Specialist to join our Process Technology group at Corbion's Innovation Center in Gorinchem. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in creating value through innovation by exploring, developing, and optimizing processes for our core business units.

Responsibilities
  • Execute projects to support the design and optimization of new or existing process steps
  • Support the generation of process alternatives and build steady-state flowsheet models
  • Run steady-state flowsheet model simulations to generate data and prepare techno-economic and sustainability evaluations
  • Develop, validate, and optimize mechanistic and/or (semi-)empirical models of Unit Operations (e.g. Fermenters) to accurately represent underlying process phenomena and assess impact on the equipment design
  • Support research, engineering, and operation by creating new custom models and maintaining and improving existing modelling infrastructure
  • Reinforce and build Sustainable Process Design as one of the key disciplines of Process Technology and bring technology forward to other departments (e.g. Operations)
About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Process Design Specialist with a strong background in Process Design and Development, preferably with 2+ years of industrial work experience in a relevant Process Industry field. You should have a proven track record of applying modelling tools for Process Design and Development, with proficiency in equation-based modelling software, preferably gPROMS software.
