We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communication Officer to join our team at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at HKU.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies to promote the Centre and its activities;
- Design and create marketing materials, including website development, social media channels, brochures, flyers, and newsletters;
- Coordinate and promote the Centre's events, including conferences, seminars, and workshops;
- Identify opportunities for external engagement and outreach activities to enhance the Centre's visibility and reach;
- Foster a strong sense of community among alumni by enhancing alumni engagement and maintaining an updated alumni database;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, and Marketing, or a related field;
- At least 3 years' relevant work experience in a communications or marketing role, preferably in a journalism or media organization;
- Excellent English writing, editing, and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency in written Chinese is an added advantage;
- Strong understanding of social media and digital marketing;
- Strong IT proficiency, including good knowledge of website content management and graphic design tools;
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills, organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Fixed-term full-time contract for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance;
- Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience;
- Annual leave and medical benefits;
- Contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary.
