Job Title: Communication Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communication Officer to join our team at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies to promote the Centre and its activities;
  • Design and create marketing materials, including website development, social media channels, brochures, flyers, and newsletters;
  • Coordinate and promote the Centre's events, including conferences, seminars, and workshops;
  • Identify opportunities for external engagement and outreach activities to enhance the Centre's visibility and reach;
  • Foster a strong sense of community among alumni by enhancing alumni engagement and maintaining an updated alumni database;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field;
  • At least 3 years' relevant work experience in a communications or marketing role, preferably in a journalism or media organization;
  • Excellent English writing, editing, and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in written Chinese is an added advantage;
  • Strong understanding of social media and digital marketing;
  • Strong IT proficiency, including good knowledge of website content management and graphic design tools;
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills, organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Fixed-term full-time contract for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance;

  • Contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary.
