Data Governance Director

In today's data-driven world, a robust data strategy and governance framework are crucial for informed decision-making and innovation. As a Director Data Governance at DSM, you will lead our global Data Governance program, shaping the way we handle, govern, and enhance our data assets. Your team will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Build and lead an engaged and collaborative Data Governance team, coaching and providing feedback to team members.
- Foster a high-performance culture, including performance management of team members.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy, data governance framework, and data operating model.
- Create a robust vision for a central data platform aligned with business objectives and growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data strategy alignment.
- Guide and support data domain leaders in defining and implementing their data domain, sub-domains, data strategy, and data governance.

Requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of leadership experience in senior data management and data governance roles, including experience in leading data teams or departments in complex international organizations.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing data governance models, developing data and digital transformation strategy, data operating model, and data governance framework.
- Experience in formalizing data governance principles, processes, and standards.
- Knowledge of data and analytics concepts, tools, and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of data privacy and security regulations (certification desired).
- Strong people management skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with C-level stakeholders across our global organization.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
