Job Description

International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) is a leading company in the development and production of flavors, fragrances, and ingredients for various industries. Our products are used by other manufacturing companies to produce everyday consumed products. The Product Experience (PX) department deals with sensory analysis and consumer research to support the Creation & Design department and marketing/sales choices.

Cognitive Science Group, Data Science Internship

As a Data Science Intern in the Cognitive Science group, you will develop an automated workflow to run routine data analysis and visualization. This will include:

  • Participating in the development of high-quality software that aligns with user needs and business goals.
  • Writing efficient code, debugging, and testing.
  • Data cleaning, stacking, and analysis.
  • Supporting the implementation and rollout of developed software into IFF's system.
  • Clear documentation of work so others can understand the code and decisions taken.

Alongside this main project, you will maintain IFF's current panel performance and ballot creation database in PX in accordance with our Standard Operation Procedure. You will also have the opportunity to review and propose future improvements.

Job Requirements

Skills Expected

  • Scientific: good knowledge in programming skills (e.g., R, Python), statistical skills (e.g., parametric & non-parametric analysis) are a plus.
  • Computer science: being at ease with digital environment, familiarity with software development methodologies and principles (e.g., wrapping and distribution) is a plus.
  • Language: mandatory scientific and professional English, written and oral.
  • Personal: we are looking for a pragmatic and solution-oriented student with an analytical mindset.

Organization

  • Duration: 5-6 months, beginning of the internship negotiable.
  • Place: Hilversum (Netherlands).
