About this role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our research on system integration of green energy, with a focus on offshore wind, solar energy, hydrogen conversion, and storage technologies. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with experts in various technical fields to develop innovative solutions and drive pragmatic, collaborative projects.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and initiate projects based on your vision of the role of green energy in the energy transition, with a focus on offshore wind, solar energy, hydrogen conversion, and storage technologies.
- Develop project proposals in close collaboration with colleagues and partners, and disseminate results to a wide audience through conferences, papers, presentations, and representation of TNO.
- Work simultaneously on several research projects at various stages of implementation, including proposal development, client meetings, and final reporting.
- Maintain an overview of our projects to ensure timely progress towards our technical and societal objectives.
Requirements
- A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field such as applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, or related disciplines.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including experience with clients and/or consultancy, optimisation models and tools, energy system modelling, and quantitative analysis related to energy and/or wind integration.
- Demonstrable experience of working on projects at organisations offering products or services in the field of renewable energy system integration.
- Ability to translate complex and multidisciplinary analyses into future business opportunities in line with the TNO roadmap.
- Excellent command of English, as you will be working in international teams and with international partners.
